The past week quite tiring..I totally never touch a gun in like, dunno how long? 1.5 weeks, I think. I can't remember how long since I played HOTD4/TC4 le..And then had a demo presentation for FYP..screwed that...had NAPFA, which wasn't too screwed because I didn't fail any stations but I felt that I could have done better? Like shuttle run I missed the next grade by 0.1 seconds (which translates to 240 points in TC4), and inclined pull up the guy didn't give me all 30seconds..so gay..Then standing broad jump also missed by a few cm...zzzzz

Crappy sia. Anyway, this Tuesday (31st July) will be the end of all my sorrows and pains. Final FYP presentatioN! Pray I do well so I dun need to stay back one year just for FYP? I hate FYP actually. When I dun like the lecturer, I stop liking the subject. Funny eh.

And actually last week I didn't hang out so much coz..I'm broke. As in, dead, D-E-D, kind of broke. I felt quite bad asking Regrets to pay for my dinners for the few days that we met up...I mean, I know it's like 'guys supposed to pay for their gf's meals now and then' or whatever la..but honestly, I dunno...

Anyway, keep Aug 11 5.30pm onwards free please. Mala steamboat dinner @ Chinatown. KTHNXBYE~ XDDD

woo after so long of not posting.

time to post some shit lol

ok, my dad became funny and asked me 'how do you keep your hair standing?' so i told him i used wax and apply it on the hair. shortly after i showed him how to use, he immediately used it right at the time he was about to sleep. my dad, ladies and gentlemen, the special effect of randomness.

yesterday was at office for half day work. nearly closing time there were no customers so me and yang sheng plugged into server and started to youtubing. DJ MAX Portable 2 Live Concert on display. wah lan, i see liao i don't know whether want to cry or not. IF Singapore has this kind of concert, i will die with no regrets. seriously. the crowd was so high during the concert lah, *WOOOOOOOOO~!* grrrr... government shit who always disallow this don't allow that, no wonder why Singapore is so not known throughout the world.

after work headed out to sim lim to check out gadgets with yang sheng. the prices are so steam-ing lah, 1gb micro SD only $20? 512mb ddr400 ram $40? ipod 2nd generation earphones $34? I SO WANT to buy alot of things after i get my pay! oh and btw, the salesgirl who showed me the ipod earphones, not bad sia lol. after that headed down to bugis and met up with joel for some games

speaking of girls, those who i see frequently are really eyecandys ^^. they are
1. my primary schoolmate, Melissa, living around my neighbourhood, the 1st girl i ever confessed i liked but got rejected. sadded. lol. FYI, Melissa not = Melissa Loh = Michelle's friend.

I don't need to tell you all who this XXX (at this point i'm just trying to save my insults for later. 3 X's because she behaves much like the women associated with them). Just search her little piece of visual thrash if you need to know who she is.

Right then, after that, scroll down down down. Until you find her entry about the "7 most disgusting bloggers". Of which she does list herself down, the fucking hypocrite. Read it, and if you don't feel as disgusted as me, then you're either 1) not a human being from our lovely planet or 2) her fucking disgusting boyfriend who probably couldn't find anyone less disgusting.

I mean, GEEZ. Just reading that alone makes me wanna puke. I shall just comment on her below:

xiaxue is a visually and textually arrogant, disgusting, attention-whoring little slut. Seriously. I wonder what drives a person to degrade him/herself to such an extent? Sure, the notoriety that comes with it is good. For about 5 minutes. And then do you know that you're perhaps the most hated Singaporean on the net? You probably do; after all, that's what you thrive on. I know some sluts ENJOY being that way but really, bitch, you take the cake.

Let me tell you this straight: You look ABSOLUTELY like the prostituting cheap bitch you make others out to be. You think you look damn pretty in your photos? Please, bitch, all i see is a sow in a mini skirt. You think you're hot? Yes you are, the way prostitutes are. You think your smile is infectious and your face is the prettiest damn thing ever? I'd look at a zombie's face any day overs yours; at least, theirs is REAL. Yours is an amalgam of everything i see in our public thrash bins.

You mentioned you like Harry Potter? I think you probably can relate damn well to one character there - Voldemort. Why? Because you and him share one fucking attribute: You're both BLIND to the truth about yourselves and believe yourselves to be remotely loveable (or in his case, all mighty and powerful yada yada yada). Sorry bitch, truth is, the only thing i can even find noticeable about you is your cheapness and sluttiness and whore-ishness and all, because YOU give yourself as cannon fodder to people to flame.

You tell me you don't care? Yeah i know, ignorance to well deserved criticism is another thing that makes you the detestable creature you are. But you already know that. You embrace your own filthy self and worse still, you embrace the hate and disgust that others feel for you. That's pathetic and about the lowest that anyone can get. But then again, if anyone is pathetic and lowly it'd be YOU.

I can't stop the whoring and sluttiness and bitchiness and disgusting-ness and the plain blindness you fail to see about yourself. But i sure can join the masses out there who see you for what you truly are: the lowest example of a person.

Damn sleepy now la. Last night chiong finish my HP7 while Michelle was chionging HP6 i think. Damn i need my HP6 back also. Tons of "z0mG!" moments at the end. Won't spoiler it for you folks but let's just say... My respect for Severus Snape has increased dramatically :)

wasnt really in office doing helpdesk stuff, but rather doing some tough Quality Checking on Uninterrupted Power Supplys.

had lots of laugh in the office today. some guy came in and wanted to buy modem to connect to router, his hair was damn weird but i didnt notice until my friend, yang sheng, walked into the inner part of the office before laughing to himself.

i was 'wtf' at that moment until he told me he buay ta han the fellow hair. LOL bastard yang sheng.

then after that was berlinda turn. 'right-click on the dynamite..' as u all know, dynamite is an explosive, so this 'dynamite' mentioned by berlinda was the driver name of the modem. nice name eh?

k then went back for more QCing of the UPS.

after work, went to bugis with jeff and ben for some ferarri drifting. was packed so i tried to play solo then this fucking noob joined my game and choosed a noob map. knn waste my $3 on a stupid 5 map course when i can play a 15 map course. then i proceed this noob by smoking him all the way from the start. he could not even catch up to me cause he crashed the walls and ate the grass, EVEN with handicap on, which boosts ur speed by double of the maximum speed. what a fucking noob and waste of money on him.

then was our turn own the machines with hard drifting. finished everything then headed home to go online and disturb michelle LOL

22nd july 2007, nothing to do at home. no need to post bout today. lol!

21st july 2007, went to work in the morning as per normal, with the exception of squeezing in the train like sardine.

after work @ 2pm, nothing to do so contacted mr zheng for hotd4 session @ amk. everything was in plan perfect, but went there all ruined -.-"

1st - mr zheng forgot to bring his nEbO card to get the MIP nEbO card.

2nd -mr zheng again, forgot to bring his own Zone-X card to play game in arcade.

3rd - the manager @ amk(previously @ je) wasn't working there ytd.

4th - went to draw money at ATM machine but the bloody machine cannot dispense $20. need to withdraw $50 at one shot. @.@

had 2 games of hotd4 + a meal at mac, then went home to rot somemore with msn pals and playing carbon trashing computer cops. WHOO! SONG BO!

ok now rot somemore before going to sleep and wake up for work tml. i feel like a lifeless drone now

Well well well. I see a lot has taken place in my 2 day hiatus from TTL. Hmmm.

Right, so today i went down to Bugis on a random call from Mr Ice. Was supposed to meet friends at J8 la, but last minute this not free that not free so... Go down Bugis lor.

And guess what, the TDX himself was there. So as usual, 3.2k HA with Rank E. Like, WTF? TDX got pwned by the machine itself lol.

So i proceed to play HotD4 after SOME IDIOT. Was going to tag with Mr Ice la, but P1 spoil.

At this point, Ice and FE were saying: "KNNBCCB WTF IS WRONG WITH BUGIS PEOPLE ALWAYS SPOIL ONE RAWR."

So i solo first. I play like crap la. Geez. Must be too many things in my head already. Haha. But it doesn't matter. Ice goes next and as usual 1CC lor. Made mistakes but oh well. We're only human. I died at LOVERS (blasted dual-spider boss), so yeah.

I proceed next to buy World War Hulk (a comic la haha) from Absolute Comics (wow, creative name indeed!). Woo hoo!

Dinner at BK, and the counter woman mistakenly upsized my ice lemon tea instead of Ice's (sorry ar lol). WWH is damn tempting to read, but never mind, i managed to stow away temptation and leave it for tonight. Quite a fair bit of talk there, insightful and all. And Ice gobbled up all the damned fries. RAWR.

So then, back downstairs for one quick game. Mr TDX is still there and abusing my poor P2 steering wheel. RAWR.

Iceman and i race after that. He won. TYCO OK. Last turn overtake me. RAWR.

I seem to be "RAWR-ing" a lot today eh. Haha. But seriously. Today was an... unusually nice day :D

Ok i better go snooze first la, catching Harry Potter movie no. 5 tomorrow at 9am (free tics lol).

ok today was 'wtf' day lah.

1st, went to eat lunch with colleagues at nearby market. buy the chicken rice go, go back to seats, and fucking drop the rice on the floor. damn dulan.

2nd, went back to office and QC the modems. bloody hell almost all of them got problems then have to 'flash' the firmware. i test until i damn sian lah ok, the stupid socket got problem 1 nb.

3rd, my friend dropped speakers on my head while i was finding something on the floor. lucky the speakers are damn light, if not i will not be typing this tonight.

after work went to bugis with FE to drive ferarri. the fucking wheel was slanted lah knn. i have to zero error the wheel myself to go straight -.-"

after that went to hotd4, the gun also cannot make it 1, shoot corner aim center, shoot center aim corner, wtf?! bo bian lor play solo after joel.

k got home and be middle man for joel and michelle. SO FUN LOL

ok today was rotting at home.woke up and played dota with maya-chan from 12-3 then i head for a shower and lunchwas great. won all matches with pub players

ok now the angry part. i took the newspaper my dad gave me, digital life from straits timesas you all know, i was/am a hardcore gamer and my wish of listening to a video game concert was one of the biggest.the news of "PLAY! a video game symphony" came to me in may when the tickets are already selling at april.

went to check the net for the tickets but all of them were sold out. how nice of straits times to announce the NEWs when the tickets ARE already SOLD OUT. THANKS STRAITS TIMES.

i got sour at the moment i realize i cannot go for the concert. then today i read up an article on PLAY! concert.

"Not many gamers were there to experience and enjoy the full musical sensation of PLAY! a video game symphony" - fuck you?

"Too bad for them, because they lost their only chance at enjoying the best video game soundtracks brought to life" - FUCK YOU? TOO BAD WASN'T BECAUSE WE ARE IGNORANT. BECAUSE YOU FUCKING RELEASE THE NEWS WHEN THE TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT. bitch.

First post from me here, so i want to make it a meaningful one :D

Let me talk a bit about the gaming scene in Singapore.

Something a dear friend once told me comes to mind when i think of our gaming scene.
"The qualifying score for UGC's HoTD4 is 30k for S1."

Trivial issue? No. Not when you consider that an average player like me is able to obtain scores of above 60k for S1. Do you know what that means? It means that i, with my average skills, am able to qualify for TWO players alone. And that is counting the fact that i'm tagging with my partner Maya. Which means that my solo score is likely higher.

"Show-off elitists!" you scream. Not at all, my friend. The issue at hand i'm trying to highlight here is that the standard of gaming in Singapore is SO LOW, we have to place such a low qualifying score in order to make sure that people outside the gunning community are able to play at UGC. And best of all? At one of the qualifying tournaments, NOT a single team out of SIX qualified. Yes, my friend. The qualifying score is lowered SO much and yet NOT a single team qualified based on score. For the curious, the top 2 teams were allowed into the competition despite not technically making the mark. This is how low our gaming standards sink.

Is this mediocrity limited to just the shooting games scene? No. Let me throw you another example, this one from the fighting games scene. Many of the Guilty Gear players were understandably excited when its latest incarnation, XXAC, was released in the Japanese arcades. They sat down and wondered just how long it would take Singapore to get our first XXAC cabinet. The resulting wait? 6 months. By which time, some Japanese arcades already had FOURTEEN cabs of XXAC compared to our local statistic of ONE. Oh sure, rumors abound that Arc Sys, the publisher of said game in Japan, was unwilling to sell the XXAC ROM to us. So what does this further prove? The extreme mediocrity of our gaming scene, such that we are refused the PURCHASE of new video games.

I hope the above 2 examples have shown you, if you have not already known, just how pathetic the Singapore gaming scene is. Many times, those among us who actually take effort to practise our games and support the scene feel absolutely pissed at the casual crowd. Why? Let's head back to HoTD4 once more. The HoTD4 gun is known to be very sensitive, such that misuse can easily result in a damaged gun. What happens? A large majority of the casual crowd go ahead and misuse the gun, leading to a multitude of problems for the serious players. Well, fuck them all. Enough is enough. Everytime the management bothers to buy a new gun, these people immediately try their utmost best to fuck things up. It isn't as if they're ignorant. Not after 2 fucking years of spoiling our guns. These majorities will never understand the the frustration brought on by their stupidity, when a serious player looks forward to training, only to find that, oh, the sensor jumps in circles, and the trigger is so fucking irresponsive. The frustration sometimes builds to a point where we simply put the gun down and walk away in disgust.

To such casual players who mess things up: Guys, its not as if you DON'T KNOW that finger reloading and such SPOILS the fucking gun. It's been 2 whole years already, not 2 weeks. Either you are plain stupid, or plain lazy to do things the right way. And either way, learn the proper way or FUCK OFF.

Now that my ranting is done *takes a deep breath*, i'd like to move on towards the next point i wanna touch on in this post: Arcade@SG, a forum totally dedicated to the arcade scene.

Arcade@SG is, by large, an idea given birth to by Ice, Maya, and i. Of course, the name is only my temporary one. Plans have not been finalised yet, due to our hectic schedules. Oh yeah, Ice, YOU are so free for the moment. Go do some work about this :D :D

But i have been extremely enthusiatic about ASG ever since it's conception. Why? Looking around locally, many of the PC games have had their own tight knit community. Maple, GE, and of course, DotA and CS. I do not personally know these communities well, but from what i have seen, these communities have thrived off active membership and group participation. As a gamer, few experiences are more wonderful than having like-minded individuals come together for the sharing and discussion of their passions.

And guess what? THIS is exactly what the local arcade scene lacks. Sure, arcades may be a thriving business. But from the point of view of someone with a dedicated passion for arcade gaming, it is extremely disappointing to see their passion thrive of randomness. What do i mean? You and i go to the arcades. The kid next door too. Your friend at school, your colleague at work. Even the random uncles living a few blocks away might turn out to be a regular.

BUT THERE IS ALMOST NO INTERRACTION WHATSOEVER BETWEEN ALL OF THEM.

Oh sure, some games DO have their communities. Even fewer of them have actually thrived. A good example would be the Maximum Tune community. As of today, their dedicated forum has over a thousand registered members and continue to see active chats and discussions. I would ask for few things more if i were a MT player. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for almost every other game.

And that is where ASG comes in.

My dream vision is for ASG to be a thriving community dedicated to ALL arcade gamers. Whether a hardcore player much like the 3 owners of TheThirdLane, or just your random casual everyday gamer, everyone and the community can benefit so much simply by having a common meeting place.

Alright, its late and i do have quite a fair bit of sleep to catch up on. Perhaps this post has ended rather abruptly. Perhaps not. Whatever the case is, i bid all readers a very happy gaming day ahead :D

Not right now though, coz I'm about to go to school for a test which..I've only marginally studied for XD

But hey, don't look at me and say to your kids 'see, this is what arcade has done to her'. Arcade gaming has done a lot of things to me; if anything, my grades have not been what they usually were, but I feel that I am much better as a person now.

Anyway, yes, I'm a girl - supposedly the best female player for TC4 in SG. XD Too bad I dun get a medal or some recognition, huh. I mean, c'mon, it's kind of expected since the kuku radio station totally gave us like minimal media coverage during UGC'06. HELL. They gave DinosaurKing more coverage than us.

ok now back to ice's life again.

friday, 29th june, went to watch TRANSFORMERS(WOOHOO!!) with joel, maya and zheng. the movie is great man really worth the $9.50 spent on it. will be watching 2nd time or maybe 3rd time, anybody wanna come along?

saturday, 30th june, went to amk hub with zheng to check out the new zone x over there. the arcade is kinda small but my darling hotd4 machine is over there wheee~! went to played our 1st round then the screen suddenly hanged and auto shut down by itself at justice. we had to call the technician to reboot the thing and start again.

k now the actual 1st round. we were doing quite badly cause we didn't touch the game for bout 2 wks since zheng entered army, but what really pissed me off while playing was this kid ah beng interrupting our game by jumping on the middle section of the machine, LOOKING at the machine and then LOOK at us, blocking all the sensors at the bottom corners. because of this no manner kid, we lost 3 lots and lots of score. thanks ah, future ah beng.

after that match we went to eat at the foodcourt there. 1 thing caught my eye: XO bah chor mee. if you think it had alcohol inside, maybe it has a little cause i didn't taste any of it =x i think it kinda sucked IMO. return arcade area, checked out this new shop called "nEbO", it is some sort of cafe/restaurant look alike to "settlers" but do not go in and buy food unless you have the nEbO card. ok 2nd round we performed better than expected. got 821k as our new high score.
